Diligent Board Member Services, Inc. Honored As Gold Stevie® Award Winner in 2013 American Business Awards℠

NEW YORK, JUNE 18, 2013— Diligent Board Member Services, Inc. (NZX: DIL) (www.boardbooks.com), provider of the world’s most widely used secure board portal, was presented with a Gold Stevie® Award in the “Customer Service Team of the Year” category and a Bronze Stevie® Award in the “Customer Service Department of the Year” category, at the 11th Annual American Business Awards last night.

The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the US are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

The awards were presented at a banquet at the Fairmont Millennium Park Hotel in Chicago last night.

“This recognition by the American Business Awards is a testament to the unstinting commitment to provide exceptional customer service by each and every member in our organization,” said Alex Sodi, president and CEO of Diligent Board Member Services, Inc. “We believe that our exemplary, white-glove customer service gives us the edge, and has been one of the primary factors behind the company’s enviable 97 percent customer retention rate.”

Diligent’s rapidly expanding service and support team has scaled to match its 100 percent growth rate last year. Instead of one account manager for each customer, Diligent assigns each client a complete service team for the duration of the relationship. Staff members provide one-on-one personal training for every single director who uses the secure board portal solution, regardless of whether training requires a series of in-person meetings or phone tutorials. And even through Superstorm Sandy, which left 80 percent of the company’s support staff at its New York City headquarters without electricity and 100 percent without transportation, the Diligent team comprising support engineers in Europe and New Zealand worked 13-hour days to cover for their displaced US colleagues, answering immediately a remarkable 97 percent of all customer service calls during the traditionally busy earnings season in the US.

Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 320 executives nationwide who participated in the judging process this year. More than 3,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year, Management Team of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others.

“This year’s American Business Awards was outsized in every way,” said Michael Gallagher, Stevie Awards founder and president. “More entries and more judges than ever before, and I’d have to say the most impressive collection of nominations we’ve ever received. We congratulate all of this year’s Stevie winners for their outstanding work.”
